Meet the Manager
Julie Hewitt - Service Manager
Julie has been in care pretty much all of her life, in one way or another. She spent her childhood growing up with family members with learning disabilities and mental health issues and so learned to 'care' from a young age. She started her working life in an educational setting as a Teaching Assistant working with primary children, in for the most part behavioural situations.
After completing her NVQ’s she then took on a Care Manager position with a Learning Disability Team in the South, providing supported living to a wide variety of people with specific needs. Julie then joined Amberwood Lodge as Deputy Manager before taking over as Service Manager in June 2023.
Kirsty Turner - Occupational Therapist
Kirsty joined Amberwood Lodge in 2020 and also works at Oakhurst Lodge.
She completed her Occupational Therapy degree at Coventry university. Prior to her role as an occupational therapist, Kirsty has also worked as an activities co-ordinator, support worker and occupational therapy assistant.
Kirsty enjoys the varied role of working with the people at Oakhurst lodge and supporting them with day to day living skills, environmental adaptation and sensory needs also enabling and training support staff to do the same.
