Cygnet Hospital Bierley’s Christmas Market

Last Friday the team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley hosted their very own Christmas Market. The market was attended by staff, service users, family members and carers.

The service users were busy all week in the run up to the big day working hard with the activity coordinators to plan the stalls and every little detail of the event. The event itself was a great success with stalls providing festive food, drinks, gifts, snacks and ice cream. There was even a visit from two donkeys, Alfie and Joe.

One service user who attended said: “This is amazing, better than Manchester and Leeds Christmas markets, almost as good as York.”

One service user’s family member said, “they haven’t seen anything like it” and were full of praise for the team for making it all happen.

Michelle O’Neil, Cygnet Hospital Bierley’s Compliance and Improvement Manager, said: “It was another amazing co-produced event which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and has certainly got team Bierley in the festive spirit. A huge thank you to our Deputy Nursing Director, Jo McAuliffe, and all the family members who attended to support us.”
