Cygnet Bury Hudson “right on track” with model railway donation
Service users and staff member Paul O’Keefe from the Occupational Therapy team on East Hampton ward at Cygnet Bury Hudson have been busy redesigning and clearing out their ward activity room.
For many months, there was discussion about what to do with the vast amount of vintage railway equipment that was no longer used. The service users came up with the idea of choosing a local railway model group to donate the equipment to, and chose Bolton Model Railway Society. Contact was made and it was arranged for Dave Donohue, Chairman of the society, who was more than happy to visit Cygnet Bury Hudson to collect the items.
Showing his appreciation of the donation, Dave was kind enough to send this message to the service users and Paul:
“I am writing on behalf of Bolton Model Railway Society to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of railway models. Your contribution will make a significant difference to our project, providing an engaging and creative outlet for the participants.
The railway models are sure to inspire and bring joy to many, and your support highlights the spirit of community and kindness that we greatly appreciate. It is donations like yours that allow us to continue enhancing the experiences we offer, and we are deeply thankful for your consideration and generosity.
Please know that your contribution will have a lasting impact, and we are excited to put it to good use. We would be delighted to keep you updated on how the models are being used and the difference they are making to our community.
Once again, thank you.”
