Cygnet Hospital Beckton celebrate South Asian Heritage Month
South Asian Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of South Asia. This year’s theme is “Stories to Tell,” and Cygnet Hospital Beckton took the opportunity to recognise South Asian Heritage Month by hearing from their amazing South Asian staff members about their experiences and heritage.
They had some insightful conversations about Asian culture, tradition, food, marriage, and historical heritage. They discussed and shared what their heritage and cultural identity mean to them. It was a lovely time as they danced to Asian music and enjoyed some special sweets.
Sujata Sharma, Practice Development Nurse, who is of Indian background, said “I’m very thankful to Cygnet Group for embracing different cultures and celebrating us. I want to share with all that I am a proud Indian and my culture brings vibrant colours, and teaches honesty and I follow these values when I am working.”
