Ellen Mhor’s Fiona acts the part at the Boost Festival

Fiona, a resident at Ellen Mhor, took to the main stage at the Dundee Rep Theatre to play her part in the Boost Festival performance of her drama group’s play, The Journey of the Compass.

Fiona has been attending Feel Good Fridays, a drama group for adults living with long-term conditions, since September 2023. Fiona has loved going along to these weekly classes to learn new skills and to rehearse her role in the play. The group is run and supported by the Dundee Rep Theatre.

The Journey of the Compass, tells a story of a magical compass that grants wishes. In the play, Fiona stumbles across the magical compass and makes some wishes and later returns in the performance to play the mother of a couple who go on an adventure to rescue the compass.

“I liked acting as Jack’s mum [in the play]. I want to act in Coronation Street next” said Fiona, when asked about her role. Staff and other service users from Ellen Mhor came along to support and watch Fiona and they loved the performance.
