Halloween Fun at Long Eaton Day Services

Long Eaton Day Services transformed into “Spooky Services” for Halloween! All the staff, team members, and service users dressed in their best fancy dress costumes, showcasing everything from witches and pumpkins to Beetlejuice and clowns.

In the morning, various games were organised, including pumpkin carving, a witches’ hat ring toss, pumpkin bowling, apple bobbing, and a sensory trick-or-treat activity. There were also Halloween stories read in the sensory room, along with Halloween-themed films shown in the cinema room.

For those brave enough to enter, the soft zone was converted into a haunted house, complete with sensory lights and eerie smells emanating from the witch’s cauldron. Many service users enjoyed this room and took numerous photos with the different props available.

Lunch featured a Halloween-inspired buffet, including ribs, carved peppers, spooky spaghetti, and mummified garlic bread, topped off with a freaky finger chocolate cake for dessert.

In the afternoon, the service users participated in a Halloween scavenger hunt around the day centre, followed by a lively Halloween party which included a movement session with Halloween themed music where everyone danced together.

‘Spooktacular’ fun was had by all!
