Halloween Week at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge
Everyone at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge enjoyed a fun-filled Halloween week.
On Monday, they kicked off the week with a Halloween movie morning, complete with hot chocolates. In the afternoon, they went for a spooky walk to Erddig Hall, where we had a tour of the grounds and the Jacobean manor. This was a fantastic experience that got everybody in the spirit for Halloween.
On Tuesday, they went pumpkin picking at Bellis Brothers Farm. This trip was a joint event with Delfryn House. All the service users picked their own pumpkins to decorate the unit. It was a lot of fun, but very muddy!
Wednesday began with a Halloween breakfast club, featuring red and green smoothies and Halloween-themed snacks. After that, they had a visit from the Animal Safari, which showcased some creepy crawlies. They met many different animals and creatures, including a huge Tegu lizard, millipedes, and even hissing cockroaches. However, everyone’s favourite was the smelly skunk! The Animal Safari also visited Delfryn House.
Thursday was Halloween party day. Everyone got into the spirit in the morning and decorated the unit. They were joined by DJ Dav from Gifted Workshops for a disco and karaoke session. There were plenty of sweets, cakes, and fizzy drinks. Both the service users and staff dressed up for the event and really engaged in the festivities; the effort put in was outstanding. The party was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed singing and dancing together.
To cap off the week, they finished on Friday with a trip to the cinema to watch the movie “Heretic.” This was another joint trip with Delfryn House and was the perfect way to end a fantastic week.
