Old Leigh House residents visit Landguard Fort
An educational trip was undertaken by Old Leigh House residents last week. The group took a drive up to Felixstowe where they visited the impressive Landguard Fort.
This stronghold has been a major part of the defence of the United Kingdom since 1667, spanning through the centuries, including two World Wars right up to the era of the Cold War. An engaging and knowledgeable tour guide excited our group with detailed stories and anecdotes of historic times at the fort, bringing to life some intense moments in our history.
