Pearl and Ruby join the team at Cygnet Hospital Ealing
The therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Ealing have been joined by two new canine volunteers – Pearl and Ruby!
Callista Ray, Occupational Therapy Assistant said, “We have been so lucky after many months of searching, to have found Pearl and Ruby. They bring such joy to our service users, and staff too for that matter!
“These interactions are so beneficial to our service users, providing anxiety relief and meaningful engagement in their weekly schedule. Being around animals can provide tactile stimulation and ease stress, and many patients are reminded of their pets at home whom they miss very much. One service user conquered her fear of dogs by joining one of the sessions, and managed to pet the dog and enjoyed spending time with her!”
