Swallowing Awareness Day celebrated across Cygnet

Across Cygnet colleagues and service users have taken part in Swallowing Awareness day, part of Nutrition and Hydration Week 2025.

Staff and service users at Glyn House held an Alice in Wonderland tea party with various different foods. Service users enjoyed afternoon tea. Service users enjoyed seeing staff dressed up as characters out of Alice in Wonderland.

The Old Leigh House team really pulled together for a sparkling Afternoon Tea Party. Led by Activity Coordinator, Joanna Furtak, residents and staff, wearing bright red shirts, met to celebrate and raise awareness. Creamy scones with jam and clotted cream, delicate sandwiches together with iced cakes made up their tasty treat. Everyone enjoyed drinking tea from cups and saucers and a colourful and vibrant time was had by everyone!

Everyone at Conifers enjoyed sandwiches, cake and scones which were prepared for residents following their IDDSI guidelines. They also enjoyed some arts and crafts in preparation for Mothers Day!

Social Care services No.12 High Street and Broughton House took part in Swallowing Awareness Day 2025 with an interactive activity with Speech and Language Therapist Chisa.

Oaklands also held a wonderful tea party.
