Meet the Team

Kimberley Mullen - Hospital Manager

Kim has a background in studying Psychology and working in secure services prior to joining Cygnet. Kim joined Cygnet in 2012 as a staff nurse following completing an MSc in Mental Health Nursing and has held roles as a staff nurse, senior staff nurse, head of care and hospital Manager. Kim has worked across rehabilitation and secure services within Cygnet supporting both male and female services.

Kim is responsible for ensuring the best possible service at Acer and regulatory compliance is met. Kim has a passion for service user involvement in service improvement as well as reducing the stigma around patients who present with a diagnosis of personality disorder.

Abi Hague - Clinical Manager

Abi qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in January 2013 and joined Cygnet as a Staff Nurse. Since then, Abi has worked in Cygnet’s High Dependency and Acute services in various service lines, including Personality Disorder, CAMHs, Learning Disability and Mental Health. She progressed to Senior Staff Nurse in 2016.

In 2018, Abi moved from Cygnet to the NHS, taking roles as a Lead Mental Health Nurse in East Midlands Ambulance Service and a Lead Assertive Outreach Nurse in the community. She returned to Cygnet in 2020 having secured a Head of Care position. Since then, Abi has been involved with the retool and opening of two of Cygnet’s Acute Wards and has achieved a distinction in Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification. She joined Cygnet Acer Clinic as Clinical Manager in 2025.

Dr Syed Zaidi - Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Zaidi joined Cygnet in June 2020 as Locum Consultant Psychiatrist. Dr Zaidi is a member of Royal College of Psychiatrist and has 13 years’ experience of training and working in mental health care services at a consultant level, both in the NHS and the Independent Sector. During this period, Dr Zaidi has worked in various settings including low secure and locked mental health rehabilitation setting for personality disorders and learning disability patients.

Dr Zaidi has a keen interest in social inclusion/ transforming care and promoting care and treatment for individuals within the least restrictive setting to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Dr Awaita Ghosh - Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Ghosh been a consultant in general adult psychiatry for the last 16 years, with experience of treating acute mental illness and a wide range of complex mental health conditions. He trained at the University of Calcutta, India and did his basic and higher specialist training in Sheffield.

Dr Ghosh has a particular interest in bipolar disorder, personality disorder and complex trauma and is undergoing training in EMDR. He is an examiner and standard setter with the Royal College of Psychiatrist for the past 12 years. Dr Ghosh has also been involved with training programme of junior doctors with the Health Education Yorkshire and Humber and Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Katie Clough - Ward Manager

Katie started her career in 2009 as a bank support worker. From then she has had various roles at different hospitals including Cygnet Sherwood house, Cygnet Views and Cygnet Acer Clinic. She started her nursing career at Acer and spent a number of years working on the specialist personality disorder ward. Katie has worked on an acute ward for a year before joining Acer Clinic as the ward manager for the Acute ward.

Katie is responsible for ensuring the team are working together alongside the service users, to provide the best care possible and achieve the best possible outcomes for the individuals admitted to the ward. Katie’s role is to also act as mentor to all staff and coach them in the implementation and proper use of Cygnet policies and procedures to ensure everyone is practicing to a safe and high standard.

Katie is dedicated to ensuring that the care provided is led and shaped by those who are best placed to know what works – the service users!

Sade Ibikunle - Ward Manager

Sade began her career in mental health services in 2016 as a support worker in a supported living accommodation whilst also completing National Vocational Qualification level three in Health and Social Care. After gaining experience in this area and other settings like secure services and independent living accommodation, she then pursued a career in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Derby and graduated with a first class honours. Whilst undergoing her training in nursing, Sade joined Cygnet Hospital Clifton as a bank support worker.

Post qualification, Sade gained experience within the same site, working as a preceptor nurse and then a staff nurse before progressing to becoming a Clinical Team Leader, and gaining the Acting Ward Manager position through her passion, diligence, hard work, and dedication to helping others and providing good quality care.

Sade currently works at Cygnet Acer Clinic as the Lower House Ward Manager. She demonstrates good leadership and she is a role model in ensuring that patient safety is maintained with high standards of nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients care within the clinical environment.

Jane Mosley – Occupational Therapist

Jane studied for a Bsc (Hons) Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Derby, qualifying in 2010. Jane gained employment with Cambian to gain experience in mental health services in 2011, commencing employment as a support worker at The Views, a learning disability rehabilitation unit for females with complex needs. This experience lead to Jane gaining my first junior Occupational Therapist post within the Male Mental Health Services at Storthfield House.

During Jane's time at Storthfield House she gained invaluable experience, developing my clinical skills working with males with enduring and complex needs, including schizophrenia, personality disorder, mood disorders and Asperger’s Syndrome.

In 2015 Jane became part of the Cygnet Acer Clinic team, progressing to the Female Mental Health Services as a Senior Occupational Therapist, specialising in personality disorder. During this time Jane have developed my clinical knowledge and skills of working in a complexed area of clinical practice, developing the Occupational Therapy service and driving provisions.

Megan Bird - Assistant Psychologist

Megan joined the team at Cygnet Acer Clinic after completing a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience at Sheffield Hallam University. Megan started her career at Cygnet at Sheffield, as a senior support worker on a low secure ward for females with mental health needs.

Megan’s responsibilities as an assistant psychologist include providing low intensity psychology groups informed by psychological models, as well as delivering one to one interventions based upon individual service user’s needs. Megan works collaboratively alongside the service user to complete a formulation to make sense of their difficulties. She administers and scores psychometrics completing a psychology report to identify specific needs of the individual within our care. Her role includes completing risk assessments alongside the multi-disciplinary team to review and inform service user’s care plans.
