Meet the Team

Claire Bradford - Service Manager

Claire completed her nurse training in 2007 at the University at Nottingham, where she was offered the opportunity to join Cygnet as a management student. She later applied to be a staff nurse and progressed to senior staff nurse at Cygnet Views. In 2015 Claire was successful in her managers application and remained in post until 2020 when she took on a new role as the regional peripatetic manager for the East Midlands.

In her role as peripatetic manager, Claire was able to offer support to managers and cover management roles along with offering service improvement to a variety of settings including; male and female, mental health, learning disability, CAMHS and social care services. In November 2022 Claire was appointed interim manager for Cygnet Grange and Cygnet Lodge before taking the role on a permanent basis in August 2023.

Paul Rose – Head of Care

Paul qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 2007, beginning his career at Cygnet Sherwood house as a nurse.

In his number of years within Cygnet, he progressed to senior nurse and latterly Head of Care for Cygnet Storthfield house. After a brief period away from the company, he re-joined at Cygnet Aspen Clinic. Paul then moved to Cygnet Lodge as a senior nurse before progressing to an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Sycamores community housing before commencing a registered hospital managers role at Cygnet Views.

Paul currently works within a management position at Cygnet Grange and Lodge as Head of Care.

Dr Melanie Hobbs - Consultant Psychiatrist

Melanie graduated from Leicester Medical School in 2009 and completed her NHS psychiatry training in Leicester. She became a Consultant in 2019 and worked in Nottingham for two years before making the decision to leave the NHS to move to Cygnet.

Melanie has worked for Cygnet Grange and Lodge since November 2021

Melanie has discovered a passion for working in neuropsychiatry and brain injury, and the challenges and rewards that come with it.

Dr Sarah Ashworth - Forensic Psychologist (HCPC Registered and BPS Chartered)

Sarah completed her Doctorate at the University of Nottingham and has specialised for the last ten years working in secure psychiatric services with adults with a range of complex risks, needs and diagnoses. She has been involved in programme, service, and strategy development ensuring people within the places she works get the right support, based upon their needs.

In addition to her clinical work, she is interested in research, with a portfolio comprising both academic and clinical publications, in addition to national and international presentations. She also enjoys sharing knowledge and provides training to clinical professionals across the country, in addition to inputting into a variety of university programmes.

Pippa Joseph - Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Pippa works for Cygnet Health Care as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for the Lodge and Grange in Nottinghamshire. She has five years of experience working with adults with acquired brain injury and mental health difficulties. Previous to this role, Pippa worked with adults with learning disabilities and autism in a residential setting.

As well as completing assessments and interventions for communication, Pippa is dysphagia trained and provides assessment and management of swallowing difficulties in a range of settings.

Alicia Lancashire - Occupational Therapist

Alicia finished her Occupational Therapy Master’s degree at the University of Derby in September 2023. Prior to this she studied Health and Social Care at the University of Lincoln and completed this undergraduate degree in 2020. After this she spent one year working as a mental health support worker for Rethink Mental Illness and soon found a passion for helping people engage in meaningful activity. Alicia joined Cygnet Grange and Lodge in October 2023 and has become a proud member of the multidisciplinary team.

Cygnet Lodge and Grange complete charity walk for Headway

Staff and service users from Cygnet Lodge and Cygnet Grange donned fancy dress costumes including a tin of beans and a flamingo to complete a five-mile fundraising walk in aid of a charity which supports those affected by brain injuries.
