Judith Etheridge - Hospital Manager
Judith, who has been a Registered nurse for over 30 years, holds an MSc in Mental Health Interventions, has previously been a Director of Nursing and Deputy Director for Service Quality and Improvements at strategic and operational levels within the NHS. Her experience in delivering high quality care across a range of mental health service is reflected in her transformational leadership andmanagement style. Judith looks for the best in people and enables staff to find the best of themselves.
Her preference to work with women who have experienced mental health and trauma through life’s journey aligns with her interest in finding ways to grow through adversity. Helping staff and service users to achieve the best they can be, has been instrumental to the over fourteen years she has been at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. Her ability to build synergy within teams and partnerships to effect positive change and performance outcomes is well established.
Awa Bah - Clinical Services Manager
Awa is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 17yrs post registration experience. Prior to joining Cygnet, Awa worked in Forensic Medium and Low Secure Rehabilitation Services within the NHS. Awa has a keen interest in working with women and was the Modern Matron for the Female Forensic Service and Forensic Personality Disorder Unit with East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Awa’s areas of expertise include Quality Improvement, recovery oriented practice, staff development and physical health. Prior to becoming a nurse, Awa worked extensively with the voluntary sector in the areas of youth work and healthcare. Awa has a Master’s Degree in Public Health and is a PRINCE2 project management Practitioner.
Jackie Wolf - General Manager
Jackie has worked at Cygnet Hospital Beckton since 1999 and has been instrumental in the changing development in the hospital. Jackie is responsible for all non-clinical services across the unit. In addition, she manages the HR and Mental Health Act departments.
Jackie has a BSc in Psychology and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD. She provides a valuable professional perspective and insight to create and deliver integrated HR services and solutions that drives effective, secure and an efficient service delivery for our service users and staff at Cygnet Hospital Beckton.
Adeyemi Shokoya-eleshin – Hooper Ward Manager
Ade has been a RMN for over twelve years and has a range of mental health experience. He developed his ward managerial experience on the personality disorder service before moving to Hooper Ward. He brings innovative ways to improve service effective in building team working ensuring positive experience for those who use our service.Janet Idowu - New Dawn Service Manager
Janet is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and a with over 9 years’ experience working within a healthcare setting, 4 years’ experience of mentoring, and has published work around leadership, relating to the importance of developing staff.
Janet first started at Cygnet Hospital Beckton in October 2022, and she has developed a passion of working with women with personality disorder, ensuing those received care on New Dawn Ward are provided with high quality evidence based care.
Gemma Gloster – Head of Psychology
Gemma is a HCPC registered and BPS Chartered Forensic Psychologist. As well as being the Head of Psychology, she is the DBT Lead, and Ward Psychologist for Hooper Ward. Prior to joining Cygnet Hospital Beckton Gemma worked across a range of private and public sector services including prisons and probation services. Gemma has worked with adults and children, both male and female, in assessment and treatment capacities.
Gemma is experienced in supporting individuals in relation to a range of presenting difficulties, including offending behaviours and mental health presentations. As such she is trained and experienced in a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, advanced DBT, and EMDR. Gemma is passionate about Motivational Interviewing and positive psychology approaches, supporting individuals to take ownership of their care and achieve meaningful life goals.
