The aim of South Hampton Ward is to provide a short, rapid intervention to help service users regain a sense of control and order in their lives, so they can move to a less restrictive care setting or return home. The team at Bury Dunes are experienced in supporting individuals that are deaf, and staff are trained in British Sign Language.
“I just wanted to say how grateful and happy I am with the South Hampton ward team, facilities and treatment. Couldn’t have done it without you all. Best hospital I’ve been to.” Service user
The service provides expert, intensive, short-term, individualised care for men detained under the Mental Health Act. Service users will present with increased risks that require them to be assessed and treated in a PICU environment.
“I just wanted to write to you and thank you very much for all your support during my son’s stay at Cygnet Hospital Bury. I knew I could always rely on an immediate response from you and you never made me feel that I was being a nuisance or asking too much. Thank you also for being instrumental in getting my son moved closer to home asap. Without your help making sure all the necessary bodies were informed, I’m not sure he would have got there so fast.” Parent
