Visiting

At Cygnet Hospital Harrogate we feel it is important for service users to maintain relationships with family and friends who provide a much needed support system. To make our service users stay with us all the more comfortable, we actively encourage visits from family and friends.

Haven and Sanctuary wards do not have specific visiting times; however, we do ask that visitors discuss visits with our nursing staff to prevent a wasted journey or any compromise of treatment and care.

Children may visit by prior arrangement with the clinical team but they cannot be allowed on the ward. Our lounge on the ground floor provides a comfortable space for their visits. Individuals under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times whilst on the hospital premises.

Parking

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate has free onsite parking for visitors; we would ask that all cars are parked carefully and not in zoned off areas which should be kept free at all time.

For directions on how to find our hospital please see our Getting Here page.

What to expect on arrival

On arrival, you will be greeted and asked to sign in; our receptionist will then direct you to the ward. Please do let reception staff know if you have any mobility needs and access to the ward will be made via the lift.

Places to stay

Should visitors need local accommodation, Harrogate is a conference town and there are numerous hotels and bed and breakfast facilities within walking distance of the hospital. Please contact us if you require further advice.

Places to visit

With its profusion of history, Harrogate has an array of attractions to suit every taste; from exploring historic venues to being on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park which is ideal for both long and short walks.

Harrogate is home to Betty’s tea rooms which is a short 10 minute walk from the hospital. Harrogate has a lot to offer shoppers with many high street names as well as small boutiques and quirky shops.
