Nash Ward – Male PICU

Gender: Male

Age: 18+

Beds: 12

Nash Ward is our PICU for men which accepts emergency and crisis admissions. Our aim is a short, rapid intervention to help people regain a sense of control and order in their lives, so they can move to a less restrictive care setting and return home.

Individuals usually come to us in crisis, may be non-compliant with their medication or this could be their first presentation with mental health symptoms. All service users are detained under the Mental Health Act.

Support

Nash Ward benefits from a full multidisciplinary team (MDT), with a range of interventions available including occupational therapy, psychology, social work, advocacy and access to a GP. We excel in quickly stabilising individuals.

Our MDT works across the whole hospital and makes use of a broad range of therapies, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Schema Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that are tailored to individual needs.
