Empowerment & Coproduction

Our service users have a strong and empowered voice and are supported to shape our services and raise any suggestions and concerns that they may have.

Every weekday we hold a service user led morning meeting, and once a week we come together for a Community Meeting for all of our staff and service users.

We highly value coproduction and we are delighted that we have advocacy services for both service users and carers.

We also have an Expert by Experience who regularly visits to support our service users, develop our service, and facilitate a monthly People’s Council meeting.

We continue to build meaningful roles within our service and have service user representatives contribute to staff meetings, interviews and more.

We take great pride in working together to improve our hospital environment and ensure a homely feel. We have several murals, a gallery for service user art work, home grown plants and vegetables, and the opportunity for service users to personalise their bedrooms.

Our carer support is equally important to us as we value their involvement in shaping our service. We also recognise that they sometimes need support and communication is key. With this in mind, we are committed to working towards the Triangle of Care principles, where professionals, service users and carers form a united partnership.
