The team at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green were pleased to welcome parents, carers and professionals at the first parent’s forum on Wednesday 12th December, to hear about the different professional roles and how they can support a young person while they are in hospital.
The team at Cygnet Appletree have been busy devising a training and CPD pathway to support the use of Positive Behaviour Strategy Plans (PBSP) with their service users. This has resulted in the development of three certificates to support understanding and specific casework in the use of PBSP’s.

Cygnet Health Care are pleased to be launching this week to all of our secure units a short co-produced film titled 'Movin On' which has been created at Cygnet Hospital Bierley to help support understanding for both staff and service users on the impact of admission into hospital for service users.
Raf Hamaizia, Cygnet's very own Expert by Experience Lead, has recently had an article published by the Guardian online. Raf wrote about a difficult experience he had when he was a service user in a medium-secure psychiatric unit, that had ultimately inspired him to do all he could to improve mental health services for others.
Monday 10th December was a very festive day at Cygnet Health Care’s head office. Raf Hamaizia, external mental health leaders, campaigners and experts by experience ensure every one of our service users receives at least one Christmas card this year.
Cygnet Sherwood Lodge are very excited to announce the launch of what they believe is the first adaptation of Forest Schools in an adult learning disability setting.
Cygnet Hospital Bury’s Elton Recovery College recently hosted a celebration of learning with an AQA accredited award ceremony. In total around 75 awards were given out on the day.
In April 2018 we annnounced a new partnership with the University of Wolverhampton to create a new generation of highly skilled future nurses. Following the success of the our initial intake of 21 staff members on our Nursing Associate Apprenticeship we are delighted to announce that a further 24 staff have now joined the programme.
On Thursday 1st November 2018 Cygnet Ealing celebrated Cygnet’s 30th Anniversary with an all-day party for service users and staff. A wide range of activities included an art exhibition, musical workshop, photo booth, face painting, pet therapy and a performance on his fiddle by the hospital's Medical Director.
In October Cygnet Health Care turned 30 years old. Celebrations have been taking place across the group and on 7th November Cygnet Storthfield House, a high dependency rehabilitation service for men, held an 80's themed birthday party.
