Awards recognition for Norcott Lodge

Natasha and Joseph at the Kirklees awards

Congratulations to Natasha Radbone and Joseph Petcher, support workers at Norcott Lodge, who were celebrated as finalists in the Kirklees Care Awards which took place on 7th November at the Cedar Court Hotel, Huddersfield.

The inaugural event celebrated and showcased the achievements of independent and Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) adult social care workers across the Kirklees area.

Natasha and Joe were nominated by colleagues in recognition of their hard work, the dedication they provide to the service and delivering high quality care.

Natasha was a finalist in the Senior Carer Worker (Care Home) of the Year category and Joe was a finalist in the Care Worker (Care Home) category.

Chantelle Womersley, service manager at Norcott Lodge said: “What an achievement for Natasha and Joe! As their Manager, I am super proud of their efforts and can see why they received so many nominations from colleagues. They really do deserve the recognition they have received by coming in the top three for their categories.”

Natasha said: “I feel so honoured to have been nominated for the Senior Carer award. It’s nice that my hard work has been noticed by the people I work with and that my work has been appreciated. I try my hardest in the role as a Team Leader at Norcott Lodge and I treat everyone as I would like to be treated myself.

“At Norcott Lodge, we are all one big family and we do try to maintain a homely environment because I think this is important. The Kirklees Care Awards night was amazing, the atmosphere was hyped all night. The best part was being present in a room with so many other talented carers who had been nominated for awards too. It’s really nice to see everyone’s achievements, share good practice and positive outcomes.”

Joe added: “I must admit that at first I was in two minds as to whether I should attend the Care Awards or not but I am so glad that I did as I honestly had the best time ever. I wasn’t particularly bothered about winning or not because for me it was all about being a part of something really special and that is exactly what it was.

“It felt really good for my partner to see me nominated too. It may sound like a cheesy cliché but even though I may not have won I still felt like a winner!”

Operations Director, Jules Moran, said: “Congratulation to Tash and Joe. I am proud of them both for being in the top three of these prestigious awards, and it’s lovely to know that they have been nominated by their colleagues.”
