Broughton Lodge achieves ‘Good’ rating with CQC

Broughton Lodge

We are pleased to announce that, following an inspection on 14 December 2018, Broughton Lodge has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Broughton Lodge is a 20 bed specialist residential service for adults with autism and who may present with behaviours that challenge. The service is divided into a 4 bed and two 8 bed homes with independent living areas. The aim of the service is to provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for residents, whilst promoting independence and community integration.

The full report (published on the CQC website) highlights many areas of positive practice, including:

  • People were treated with dignity and respect and their privacy and human rights were safeguarded.
  • Care and support plans had been developed that were subject to ongoing review to ensure people’s changing needs were identified and planned for.
  • People were encouraged to engage in a range of person-centred activities and were supported to follow their preferred routines.
  • Governance and quality assurance systems had been developed to ensure oversight and scrutiny of the service. This included processes to enable people who lived in the care home and their relatives to be consulted about their views and opinions of the service.

“I am extremely pleased and proud of the team at Broughton Lodge achieving a good CQC rating, everyone has worked extremely hard and dedicated their time to continuously improving the service and to the quality of support delivered at Broughton Lodge. A great achievement and a reflection of commitment to the service.”James O’Neil, Regional Manager
