The Housing with Care Awards are being run by Care Talk Magazine. The aim of the awards is to recognise and celebrate excellence in accommodation and services for integrated retirement communities, people with learning disabilities and people with mental health problems, retirement villages, assisted living, extra care housing and supported living and shared lives schemes.
Located in the heart of the community in Sawbridgeworth, Chaseways is a residential service providing outcome focused care for adults with moderate / severe learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge and associated complex needs.
Chaseways were nominated in the Care Team Award category which will be presented to the team who are able to best demonstrate a shared vision and agreed goals. The team should have a leader whose role is known and accepted and who takes personal responsibility for their tasks. Teams should have an excellent communication process and each member’s skills should be recognised within the team.
Sherry Packard, Registered Manager of Chaseways, nominated her team saying: “I nominated my team for all their hard work and commitment to the service and giving gold star, person-centred care. This is the first time Chaseways has ever been nominated for an award.”
Sherry, who started at Chaseways when she joined Cygnet Social Care in April 2020, has worked in care for almost 20 years. She added: “The team are brilliant. They work together, support each other, they’re worth their weight in gold. The unit wouldn’t be where it is if not for them.”
The Awards ceremony will take place on 9th June with some of the team attending at the Marriott Hotel on London’s Grosvenor Square.
Congratulations to everyone at Chaseways and good luck from all of us at Cygnet!
