Congratulations to Mold Alexandra FC

The Mold Alex FC team celebrating their win

All of us at Cygnet extend a huge congratulations to Mold Alexandra FC who lifted the Cymru North Cup at the weekend after beating Llandudno at Denbigh’s Central Park.

Mold Alexandra FC, sponsored by the Cygnet Health Care division, took on Llandudno in the Welsh Blood Service Northern League Cup final at Denbigh’s Central Park ground on Saturday 6 April.

More than 600 spectators were in attendance at Central Park for the big cup final and witnessed the team’s 3 -1 victory over Llandudno and secure silverware, a wonderful achievement their already impressive season. The team will now face Briton Ferry Llansawel in the national final at Newtown on 20 April.

Cygnet’s relationship with the team goes back to 2015 when we began sponsoring the Mold Alexandra FC’s first team. Our logo features prominently on the front of the senior first team shirts.

Nick Ruffley, Managing Director Healthcare Division (North) for Cygnet Health Care said: “On behalf of Cygnet I would like to extend our huge congratulations to Mold Alex FC players and staff on this wonderful achievement. Securing silverware is the ambition of any football club and we are very proud to be sponsors for this fantastic club. We wish them the best of luck in the National final.

“Being part of the local community is incredibly important to us. Sponsoring Mold Alexandra enables our staff and service users to feel connected to local activities and events and, as well as demystifying the service that Cygnet offers, we hope it also raises awareness of mental health.”

Cygnet has two services located in Mold. Cygnet Delfryn House is a 28-bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who suffer mental illness. We also offer a specialised women’s high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge.

The partnership between the two hospitals and the football club has flourished as the service users from Delfryn have been involved in voluntary work, including helping the kitchen on match days.

Committee member for Mold Alex FC, Barry Couchman, said: “It was a very good performance in very challenging conditions. It was a great night of football, the support was excellent and everyone enjoyed the celebrations which continued back at our clubhouse at Alyn Park after the game. The occasion and the win was fantastic for everyone connected with the club.

“The Players, Manager and coaching staff all deserve a great deal of praise for their efforts, which have brought a promotion and two Cups to the club in the past three years.

“Thank you Cygnet for its continued support of Mold Alex.”

Once again, all of us at Cygnet extend a huge congratulations to all players and staff at Mold Alexandra FC for their victory.
