Originally founded in 1953, Westfield FC are based in the Westfield area of Woking and currently play in the South Central Division of the Isthmian League. The club’s ground, Woking Park, is just a few miles from Cygnet Hospital Woking and Cygnet Lodge Woking. The staff and service users from the services have plans to attend home games and develop further links with the club.
Jim Ahmed, Vice Chairman of Westfield FC, said, “I would like to thank Cygnet Health Care for being our kit sponsor for the 21/22 season. We hear a lot about mental health and more so on how men do not talk about this subject.
“We take pride at Westfield FC in the way we put the wellbeing of our players and staff first. Having suffered from mental illness for a few years myself, I know first-hand how life can get very difficult very quickly.
“We are looking forward to the new season and a long partnership with Cygnet Health Care.”
The new kit with the Cygnet Health Care logo was officially unveiled on Monday 9th August in a pre-season friendly with local rivals Woking FC. A shirt was presented to Cygnet’s Operations Director Seamus Quigley by Simon Lane, Westfield’s 1st Team Manager. The shirt is to be framed and put on display at Cygnet Hospital Woking.
Best of luck to Westfield FC for the coming season!
