AIMS is a national project that works with staff, service users and carers to improve the quality of in-patient mental health rehabilitation services. Amongst other things the AIMS peer review team assess standards of care, current facilities, standards of documentation and health records, environmental facilities, and staff training qualifications, support and supervision
The team at Cygnet Lodge Woking have been working hard since September 2018 to achieve this accreditation. In total they met 97% of the 250 standards that were measured against. The feedback that was received from the peer review team found the following as particularly noteworthy areas of achievement:

- Good leadership and senior management team. Staff reported that the new management team had led to a lot of positive changes
- Best practice in physical health monitoring and provision, with a lot of appropriate resources, including staff, Practice Nurse and physical health champions
- Clean well maintained environment throughout the unit. A lot of resources available
- Good contacts with the community team and with local services
- Best practice noted with the Recovery College on site
- Staff development, training and well-being noted to be very good, staff reported good morale within the team
- Very good display of relevant information around the ward
- Good carer engagement initiatives
- Good health and lifestyle support and monitoring

Cygnet Lodge Woking, in Surrey, is a high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men with complex needs. Our service provides a high level of support and uses a recovery focused model.
