Cygnet Maple House fundraising to support 4Louis

In March the service users and staff at Cygnet Maple House continued their support for 4Louis, their chosen charity for 2025.

4Louis believe that parents suffering the loss of a baby or child need to be supported with compassion, empathy and care. Memory boxes can provide a special way for bereaved families to store meaningful items and remember their baby. The staff reported feeling a sense of purpose and profound pride in being able to help with such an important part of what the charity provides to families.

On Wednesday 2nd March, Cygnet Maple House Activity Co-Ordinator, Nicola Bicknell, and Senior Nurse, Sharlotte Somerville, visited the 4Louis head office and supported the charity in producing memory boxes for families who have experienced baby loss.

On Saturday 29th March some patients at Cygnet Maple House carried out a fundraising car boot sale in aid of 4Louis. The team and patients got together all of their unwanted items and sold them, raising £230. Everyone who took part really enjoyed themselves and fully got into the spirit of the event. They were keen to make as much money as possible. The patients reported that they were happy to be doing something for such a great cause and really motivated them having something positive to focus on.

Team Maple House have raised £920 for 4Louis so far this year and have further fundraising events planned including bake sales, car washing day and the famous Maple Fest, which will return with a key focus on promoting our charity of the year.
