Cygnet shortlisted as finalist in two categories at HealthInvestor Awards

We are excited to have been named a finalist in two categories at this year’s HealthInvestor awards; Private Hospital Group of the Year and Specialist Care Provider of the Year – Large Group (20+ settings).

As a leading provider of mental health, autism and learning disability services in the UK, our 35-year history has seen us build a reputation for delivering pioneering services and outstanding outcomes for children, young people and adults.

Our services can support those with a range of needs, including complex and acute mental illness, personality disorder, eating disorder, acquired brain injury, learning disability, and autism spectrum disorder. When the NHS does not have the capacity to meet these needs, we are able to provide the highly specialist care that is required.

Last year was an exciting year for us at Cygnet. The construction of seven brand new hospitals progressed at pace, four of which were proudly opened throughout the year, with the remaining three nearing completion and set to open in the first half of 2025. Combined, these seven new hospitals will provide 230 beds, help 1,500 patients each year, and bring 1,000 new jobs to the economy.

In addition to our extensive building and growth programme, we maintained quality care across all our services around the UK, with 81% of our services rated Good or Outstanding by regulators, and 100% Good or Outstanding OFSTED ratings.

With record levels of referrals, we supported 8,318 of people to recover, regain independence, and rebuild their lives and also worked with 360 commissioning bodies; 187 NHS and 173 Local Authorities.

Stephen Firn, CEO of Cygnet Health Care division, said: “We are proud to be shortlisted in the Private Hospital Group of the Year category. This recognition is reflective of the dedication and hard work of the entire staff at Cygnet, who are committed to delivering the highest standards of safe, compassionate, expert care and positive patient outcomes.

“I want to congratulate the staff team for this well-deserved acknowledgement of how we are improving lives together.”

Our expert and highly dedicated social care team of 2,757 employees empower 785 residents and service users across 71 residential, supported living and day services to consistently make a positive difference to their lives. Most importantly with the right support and help we empower each individual to progress along their care pathway to an environment that suits their needs.

Gareth Williams, CEO of Cygnet Social Care, said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted once again for Specialist Care Provider of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards, especially after our win last year.

“This recognition is a testament to the ongoing commitment of our teams, who continue to provide compassionate, high-quality care to the residents we support. Our focus remains on improving lives together and creating meaningful impact, and we are proud to build on the legacy of excellence that earned us last year’s win.

“2024 was a year marked by the remarkable dedication, compassion, and resilience of our brilliant teams across the country. Together, we’ve continued to provide exceptional care to some of the most vulnerable members of our society, helping them to lead happy, fulfilled lives in environments where they feel safe, valued, and supported.

“Thank you to all of our dedicated staff for their passion and hard work.”

The HealthInvestor Awards shines a light on the very best in health and social care and we look forward to celebrating with our fellow nominees on 4th June.
