I wanted to share the significance of Diwali to me and my family. Growing up in Leicester, where Diwali is celebrated with great gusto on the “Golden Mile,” the festival has always been a time of joy, reflection, and togetherness for us. Each year, we light diyas, offer gratitude, and look forward to new beginnings, surrounded by the warmth of loved ones, and delicious food!
Diwali, known as the festival of lights, holds deep significance in Hindu culture. It marks the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, following his victory over the demon king Ravana. The people of Ayodhya lit rows of oil lamps to celebrate his homecoming, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness. This message of hope, new beginnings, and the power of goodness resonates with all of us, both personally and in our work here at Cygnet.
This year, Diwali falls between Thursday October 31st and Sunday November 3rd. To all who celebrate, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyous and prosperous Diwali. May this celebration bring you and your loved ones light, happiness, and success in the coming year.
