Cygnet Hospital Harrow celebrated Diversity and inclusion Day on Wednesday 27th October. Over the course of the week they sampled food from different countries, with the main event on Wednesday giving the multicultural staff team and service users the opportunity to share their stories and learn from each other.

Last weekend Cygnet Hospital Taunton were proud to support Taunton Town FC with its first community engagement project. A service user at Cygnet Sedgley House and Lodge has written a song and starred in his own rap music video as part of Cygnet's Music 2 Empower programme. 21-year-old Ajman Idris was able to film a music video for one of his songs, called ‘Lifeless’, with a professional film crew.
Cygnet Hospital Bury's Excel and Exceed School have recently achieved the Rainbow Flag Award. The Rainbow Flag award is a quality assurance framework that encourages a whole school approach to LGBTQ inclusion and supports schools in developing strategies to challenge and combat LGBTQ phobic bullying.
Approximately 20% of those aged 60 and over now experience mental health conditions. Earlier this month was Older Adults Mental Health Awareness Week, which aims to reduce the discrimination faced by older adults, as well as raising awareness. On Swift Ward, our Older Adults Acute service at Cygnet Hospital Taunton, staff and service users took the opportunity to celebrate the lives of the Older Adults on the ward.
Gledholt Mews and Coach House raised a fantastic £313.30 for Mind as part of the team’s celebrations for World Mental Health Day.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Fiona Kennedy as Cygnet’s first Group Social Work Lead. In addition to providing leadership to our social work teams Fiona will also be promoting best practice and innovation across our services.
Cygnet Health Care has partnered with Kent Cricket to help primary age children think about their mental wellbeing ahead of World Mental Health Day. Kent Cricket have produced a short video of a visit the cricket club made, together with Cygnet School's Education Officer, to a primary school in Kent.
The service users and staff at Sheffield Day Services love trips out for a meal and were recently blown away by how the staff at one local pub, The Angel in Woodhouse, accommodated the service users’ dietary needs.
