Karen and the team at Tabley House Nursing Home

Well done to the team at Tabley House Nursing Home who have seen the service achieve an overall ‘Good’ rating following their latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Tabley House Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care to older adults and is set with a stunning 18th century house located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

The latest inspection, which was carried out over two days in October, looked specifically at whether the service was safe and whether the service was well led. The service retained its ‘Good’ rating for being safe and was upgraded from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ for being well led. As result the service is now rated ‘Good’ across all five key lines of enquiry.

The full report, published on the CQC website, highlights many areas of positive practice, including:

  • People and their relatives were unanimous in their praise for the management team, staff and the standard of care provided.
  • Staff were well trained, caring professionals. They were engaging and showed skill and sensitivity in the way they responded to people.
  • The management team and staff were clear about their roles and responsibilities and they promoted a positive, person-centred culture.
  • Staff worked well together as a team, and there was good partnership working with others to meet people’s needs.
  • Managers and staff worked effectively and cooperatively with health and social care professionals to develop practice and improve outcomes for people who lived at the home.
  • The management team regularly engaged with people using the service, their relatives and staff through meetings, informal discussions and quality surveys.

Karen Lynskey, Registered Manager, said, “This is absolutely fantastic news. The staff have been under so much pressure and have worked tirelessly over the last 18 months. It is outstanding that their hard work and dedication has been recognised by CQC with this outcome. I would like to thank all the staff for their continued support and feedback, which without, we would not have been able to take the strong steps forward we have taken to reach this goal.”
