The service users at Cygnet Hospital Woking, supported by the psychology department, created #BeBodyKind boards to raise awareness in line with this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme – ‘Body Image: How we think and feel about our bodies’.
Every day we are inspired by the work our staff do with service users and residents at our services as part of their day to day roles. We want to celebrate their work and recognise when people go above and beyond with acts of random kindness.
We are pleased to report that Cygnet Heathers and Meadows Mews have met the criteria to be members of the Independent Neurorehabilitation Providers Alliance (INPA). Five of Cygnet’s neuropsychiatric services are now members of the INPA.
Cygnet Sherwood Lodge’s recent ‘Outstanding’ award by the Care Quality Commission means that six of Cygnet’s learning disability and autism services are currently rated as overall ‘Outstanding’.

Phoebe, a service user at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, recently proved a hit at the National Service User Awards where she won in the ‘Recovery and Arts’ category. Phoebe won the award for her ‘Learn to Play the Ukulele’ initiative.
On Friday 3rd May 2019, Cygnet Hospital Woking and Cygnet Lodge Woking co-hosted the first of three “Family, Friends and Caregivers” events for the year. The half day event was a great success with 17 family and friends of our service users across both sites attending.

Two of our specialist ‘Outstanding’ learning disability and autism services are celebrating after being shortlisted for a pair of prestigious national awards. Cygnet Sherwood Lodge in Mansfield and Cygnet Wast Hills in Kings Norton have each been shortlisted for an award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2019.
Cygnet Churchill, our mental health hospital for men in south London, is to open a new 17 bed emergency acute service for men. The service will provide a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. Juniper Ward opens on Monday 20th May 2019.
We are delighted to announce that, following a CQC inspection on 11th and 12th March 2019, Cygnet Sherwood Lodge have been awarded Outstanding in all five Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) – Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led.
